Aromatherapy massage: a promising adjuvant treatment for knee osteoarthritis

“Non-pharmacological approaches play an important role in symptom management and disability prevention in osteoarthritis treatment, including physical therapy (e.g. heat, light), exercise, training, hot-cold application, health spas, massage, and tissue manipulation. Previous studies on osteoarthritis have shown the positive effects of non-pharmacological methods (e.g. phytotherapy, aromatherapy, balneotherapy, acupuncture, yoga) on pain and quality of life. In some countries, nursing care frequently uses aromatherapy.”
