The calming nature of blue essential oils has always spoken deeply to me—they soothe the skin, comfort the soul, and ease emotional heaviness. Through scent, I experience a profound connection to intuition and inner wisdom, as the olfactory system opens a pathway to something unseen yet deeply felt. After the passing of my daughter, this connection became even more meaningful. In my grief, I learned that what we often keep private—sorrow, loss, longing—can also be shared and transformed. Creating and blending became my way of communicating with both nature and spirit, guided by an inner knowing that felt like Divine support.
When I reopened my space, Nature’s Spirit, I did so while carrying deep sadness, yet also a sense of purpose. Serving others through plant medicine helped me heal. I noticed how scent anchored me in the present moment, offering comfort before thought could even form. Over time, I came to trust that essential oils guide us—showing what we need, how they help, and where they work within us. During a particularly difficult moment, I was intuitively led to create a blend focused on breath, heart, and immunity. The name “Blue Balm” came to me clearly, and with it, the understanding that certain blue and green oils correspond to emotional and energetic healing, especially within the heart and throat.
Blending this balm was both an art and a necessity—I was creating not just as a practitioner, but as someone in need of healing. Using shea butter as a base, I combined carefully selected oils, allowing their synergy to unfold naturally. Over time, I witnessed how this formulation supported not only myself but many others. While I make no claims of cure, I have seen how it brings real comfort. Each ingredient contributes uniquely: blue chamomile calms and regulates, violet leaf comforts the heart, yarrow strengthens and protects, and helichrysum helps release deep emotional wounds while supporting physical regeneration.
Other oils in the blend further enhance its effects—Inula supports the lungs and immunity, khella opens the breath and circulation, hyssop deepens oxygen intake and clarity, and frankincense restores peace while grounding the spirit. Together, they reflect both the science and soul of plant medicine. I’ve come to understand that plants communicate through their form, color, and chemistry, offering guidance through what is known as the Doctrine of Signatures. In honoring these messages, I continue to share these botanical gifts with reverence, trusting that through scent, we reconnect not only with nature—but with ourselves.
