Life begins from a scent. I see life as something that unfolds through smell—beginning even before birth, guided by invisible odour pathways we rarely notice. Just as breathing happens unconsciously until we pay attention to it, living often moves forward without our full awareness. We rush toward the future, disconnected from the present moment and from our senses, especially the sense of smell—the “mute sense” that works quietly beneath consciousness. Yet scent holds memory, emotion, and identity, inviting us to pause and rediscover who we truly are.
Through my journey with scientific aromatherapy, essential oils, and olfaction, I created Aromatic Biography—a way to explore life as a living perfume, shaped across time. Drawing from aromacology and the biographical vision of septenniums, I use olfactive meditation to revisit each phase of life through scent. Essential oils act as bridges, awakening memories and emotions stored beyond rational thought. Smell bypasses the mind’s constructed logic and brings us directly into contact with something deeper, more authentic, and timeless within us.
For me, essential oils are not just substances but silent guides—concentrates of light and life that connect the material and spiritual worlds. Through scent, we can step outside linear time, access our inner truth, and understand our life as a work of art shaped by universal rhythms and personal freedom. Aromatic Biography helps me—and those I guide—trace the unique perfume of a single life, discovering meaning, destiny, and connection, and learning that by understanding our own story, we become better able to understand others.
