Navigating the Healing Complexities Surrounding“Mind Body and Soul" By Tina Marie Nold

Pg. 60-66 5-minute read

Healing is not always a straightforward process, and one of the greatest mysteries in holistic practice is why one person can fully heal from an illness while another, given the same diagnosis and treatment, cannot. This paradox leads us to look beyond the physical body and into deeper layers of human existence. Healing is influenced not only by the remedies used but also by energy, intention, and the willingness of the individual to embrace change. Practitioners are challenged to bridge this gap, guiding clients toward permanent healing by understanding both the seen and unseen forces at play.

Science shows us that the universe itself is made of more than just physical matter; Dark Matter and Dark Energy make up most of existence, even if we cannot see or measure them directly. This cosmic truth reflects in human beings as well—we are more than flesh and bone; we are energetic beings. Subtle energies, which cannot always be measured by science, weave through and beyond the body, influencing physical, emotional, and spiritual health. When these energies are blocked by trauma, stress, or negative thought patterns, illness can arise or return. Healing, therefore, requires not just physical remedies but also alignment and balance within these energy fields.

The shadow side of healing reminds us that holding on to wounds and past traumas drains our life force and keeps us stuck in cycles of pain. Caroline Myss calls this “woundology,” the habit of defining ourselves through suffering. True healing begins with forgiveness, reclaiming the power we have lost to people or events, and breaking free from the patterns that weaken the body. This inner work allows energy to flow more freely, creating space for transformation and even miracles. Miracles, in this sense, are not supernatural accidents but moments when healing occurs outside the normal pace of time and matter—when the soul moves faster than physical reality.

Ultimately, healing modalities such as aromatherapy, massage, or meditation are only tools until we do the inner work. Essential oils are more than scents, and healing touch is more than relaxation when they are integrated with self-awareness, forgiveness, and spiritual connection. The key to sustainable healing lies in uniting body, mind, and soul while embracing the subtle energies that connect us to the universe itself. Practitioners must walk this journey for themselves and guide clients with compassion, knowing that true and lasting healing is a partnership between science, energy, spirit, and choice.
